I learnt the process of perception. Sensory stimulation occurs, which is First stage, the sense organs are stimulated ; taste a slice of pizza. You perceived something meaningful and not perceiving what is not meaningful. Besides that, the Second stage, Sensory stimulation is organised according to various principles. Furthermore, the Third stage, Sensory stimulation is interpreted-evaluated. Interpretations-evaluations are not based solely on the external stimulus. May be based on your past experience, needs, wants, value systems, emotional state, expectation and so on.
Lecture showed us a few pic and ask us what we see, what is our perception.
There are also 5 processes influencing perception :
1. Implicit personality theory
2. The self-fulfilling prophecy
3. Primacy- recency
4. Consistency
5. Attribution
Halo effect.

Reverse halo effect.

Pygmalion effect.

then proceeds to fulfill it.
Primacy-recency.

like
Consistency.
-People
have a strong tendency to maintain balance or consistency among
perceptions.
Attribution.
-The
process through which you try discover why people do what they do and even why
you do what you do.
